Mrs. Jost's Mini Majors

Welcome to dance minis majors!! I am so excited to share my passion of dance with all of you!!

What to expect in class the first few weeks:

  • Dancers will learn the procedures for the locker room 
  • How to make a bun in the hair
  • Dance studio etiquette
  • Beginning ballet class (basic positions, the ballet barre, and center work)
  • How to warm up before class begins
  • The importance of practicing what was taught

Term 1 Summary of Mini majors

  • Dancers learned exercises at the ballet barre, center and across the floor, which they need to continue to practice at home
  • Dancers are all prepared with hair in a bun, leotards, tights, and shoes
  • Dancers need to improve on time in locker room before and after dance

Dance Reading Incentive

  •   Dancers will keep a reading log in agendas
  •  For every 5 books read and log signed by parent, a dancer will receive a patio pass
  •  Dance books are available in the media center for checkout or they may be from another library
  •  Dancers may check out elementary and middle school dance books
  •   Dance education includes dance history, ballet stories, various dance genres, dance vocabulary, and biographies.
